Background
To meet the high demand for marketing and distribution management professionals of business enterprises and non-profit organizations in Taiwan, the Department of Marketing & Distribution Management was established in August 2003 with the approval from the Ministry of Education. The department has set up four-year program leading to a Bachelor degree.

Educational Objectives
The Department aims to prepare students to fill entry or middle level positions in business enterprises and non-profit organizations. Our graduates are expected to have sound theoretical knowledge and solid practices to help their prospective employers solve business problems.

Special Features
The Department focuses on teaching excellence, which is achieved by balancing theoretical foundation and practices. Other important skills and knowledge such as information systems literacy and foreign languages are emphasized. The Department also encourages establishing partnership with local business organizations to facilitate teaching, research, and student internships.
 
Faculty
Faculty members hold doctoral or master’s degrees, and/or have substantial experience in the related fields.
 
Facilities
Campus facilities that support teaching and research include intelligent store , mobile marketing platform, mobile logistics management system, cultural and tourism marketing platform, business operation simulation system, marketing winner, retail expert, and supply chain simulation (beer game).
 
Curriculum
The curriculum consists of courses in four areas:
(1) Core Courses: management principle, economics, business statistics, accounting principle, electronic commerce, marketing research, marketing and distribution project, human resource management, financial management, internship, and etc.
(2) Marketing Management Courses: marketing management, consumer behavior, product management, channel management, pricing strategy, promotion and advertisement, services marketing, international marketing, internet marketing, and etc.
(3)Distribution Management Courses: retailing management, logistics management, supply chain management, service operations management, practices in retailing management, industry analysis, entrepreneurial management and etc.
 
Prospect
The fields of marketing and distribution management offer a wide variety of occupational opportunities for graduates. Graduates can expect to work in business and non-profit organizations as entry or middle level management professionals in areas such as marketing, sales, retailing, wholesale distribution, logistics, electronic commerce, and etc. In addition, pursuing graduate degrees (in business or management schools) at domestic or overseas institutions is a good prospect as well.
